In October of 2018, PTC announced that:
Starting in January 2019, customers of these products will now need to obtain and install Java as a prerequisite for installing or re-installing their PTC products. As before, customers of these products will need to continue to work with Oracle to receive new release notifications and secure a support contract to download the latest security patches and bug fixes.
Affected products: Arbortext Editor, Publishing Engine, Styler and Architect
There are several Articles on the PTC support website that will continue to be updated as PTC sets the Java Roadmap and tracks support for Oracle Java and OpenJDK. See cases CS314473, CS299234, CS294350 for updates.
PTC support has announced that Amazon Corretto is the only OpenJDK implementation that will be supported going forward.
